Soup-er Halloween

Today in P4B we made soup and scones and they were very yummy, although soup isn't always my favourite thing.

I think I learned a lot about teamwork and that cooking is not just about chopping up some carrots, it is about a lot more. It was very yucky when you mush up the butter in the batter for the scones. I was surprised when the scones came out so nice! After the baking, I was very proud of myself! Mrs Noble gave us all a Head Teacher's Award!

Primary 4C's trip to the museum

On Tuesday 29th October P4C embarked on their trip to the National Museum to find out more about the Ancient Egyptians.

They learned all about the Pharaohs and what happened to their bodies once they had died. Here you can see a canopic pot which was used to store the organs.

Here are some of the children dressed up as one of the Gods

During the trip the children were also shown some artifacts which they had to find out about. They had to try to work out which Pharaoh's tomb the artifacts had come from.

And here is the answer. Can you work out which Pharaoh's name is written at the bottom of the page in hieroglyphics?

Food Glorious Food

4C's Trip to the Sciennes Kitchen

First the children had to collect all of the delicious ingredients that they needed to make their soup

Once the vegetables had been expertly chopped up, they were put into the pan to cook.
This is the before picture!

And this is the finished product. . . looks delicious!

Bon Appetit! Primary 4C all loved their lovely lentil soup.
Well done on a fabulous job!

Primary 4B try their hand at some archaeology!

The children got to test their skills digging for artifacts. They were careful when brushing away the sand to make sure nothing was damaged!

4B have been exploring hieroglyphics and have been writing different messages to one another.

The visit was a fantastic experience and a great time was had by all!

Cooking up a storm in the kitchen

Food Focus Week

4A have been working away in the kitchen this week making some delicious lentil soup.

Olivia, Minnie, Ailsa, Martha, Gulliver and Emil were responsible for peeling and grating the carrots while Tihomir, Nicky and Seumus bravely chopped the onions!

Rose and Anna did a great job following the recipe and keeping an eye on the pot.

We were very lucky to have lots of fantastic new aprons to keep us all nice and clean.

Team work!!

Evelyn, Izzy, Ben, Liston, Alaric, Ruying and Lucy took over chopping duties for the 2nd group

And finally the soup was ready. Bon Appetit!!

Thanks to the lovely mummies who were able to come in and help out. We appreciate all your help!
