FABULOUS P7 ENTERPRISE!

Thank you to Class Teachers Mrs Barker and to Mrs Maguire for supporting this fantastic entrepreneurial P7 endeavour with financial assistance from Anita Neilson of Virgin Money Make £5 Grow and our Parent Council. Great work, P7, and a wonderful way to contribute to the school community as part of Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS).

JGHS Concert Songs - Winter Song

Winter Song

Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum
Bum bum bum bum bum bum
Bum bum bum bum bum bum

This is my winter song to you. The storm is coming soon, It rolls in from the sea.

My voice a beacon in the night. My words will be your light, To carry you to me.

Is love alive?  Is love alive?  Is love…

They say that things just cannot grow. Beneath the winter snow, or so I have been told.

They say we're buried far, Just like a distant star, I simply cannot hold.

Is love alive? Is love alive? Is love alive?

This is my winter song.
December never felt so wrong,
'Cause you're not where you belong;
Inside my arms
.

Bum bum bum bum bum bum bum bum
Bum bum bum bum bum bum
Bum bum bum bum bum bum

I still believe in summer days. The seasons always change, and life will find a way.

I'll be your harvester of light, and send it out tonight, so we can start again.

Is love alive? Is love alive? Is love alive?

JGHS Concert Songs - Pompeii

Pompeii

--, eh oh, eh, oh. Eh, eh oh, eh, oh.

Eh, eh oh, eh, oh. Eh, eh oh, eh, oh.   X 2

I was left to my own devices
Many days fell away with nothing to show

and the walls kept tumbling down,

In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills.

Bringing darkness from above

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?

Ooh -  ooo -  ooh

Ooh -  ooo -  ooh

We were caught up and lost

in all of our vices

In your pose as the dust

settles around us

And the walls kept tumbling down,

In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills.

Bringing darkness from above

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?

 (A cappella)

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?

---, eh oh, eh, oh. Eh, eh oh, eh, oh.

Homework for Monday 21st November

Spelling - revision week. Look over your spelling check ups from the block. Which was your trickiest pattern? Practise the words using the LSCWC strategy and choose a spelling task from the grid to further reinforce the spelling pattern. No sentences or definitions are required this week. There will be a spelling check up on words from the whole block so make sure you take time to revise all the patterns and words.

Maths:

If you would like help in finding half, quarters or other fractions of money to help with percentage calculations then try pizza fractions. For support with making more tricky class economy calculations try checkout change (which is tablet friendly).

Music:
We have reached the end of our learning focus on Rivers. You all worked very hard on the scientific and geographical aspects of learning about rivers and produced some superb fact based evidence of learning. To finish off we would like you to think about a more creative style of learning: MUSIC.
Your task is to choose 3 songs or pieces of music from the theme of RIVERS. These pieces can be pop music, classical, rock, instrumental or vocal, or indeed from any genre of music. In your jotter write down the song title, artist/composer/performer, genre and why you chose it/what it makes you think about. You will be asked to share ONE of your choices with your group on Monday.
